The Cressi King is an advanced freediving computer combining intuitive design with sophisticated safety algorithms.
Designed to meet the unique demands of freedivers and spearfishers, the King uses Cressi’s Taravana Risk Reduction Algorithm, which allows divers to select from eight different recovery settings between dives.
The Algorithm takes into account the dive time, depth, water temperature and previous dives and encourages safe surface recovery times to help prevent the onset of Taravana, a serious condition where nitrogen bubbles can form in the bloodstream and tissues. From a setting of twice the dive time (L1) to five times the dive time (L8), this feature enables divers to choose the safety level that best matches their dive plan and physical condition on the day.
Cressi’s Oedema Protection Algorithm helps reduce the risk of pulmonary oedema and haemoptysis. It allows divers to set a target maximum dive depth, which in turn sets up a series of progressive warm-up dives. These warm-up dives let the body acclimatise and prepare for deeper dives, optimising blood flow to protect the lungs from strain and minimise the risk of injury.
With a marine-grade stainless steel bezel and a tough silicone-polyamide strap, this watch is rated to 120 metres. Additional features, such as customisable depth and time alarms, a hydration reminder, a tide indicator and a logbook function, make this an essential tool for freedivers looking to safely explore their endurance.
